Animation trying to convey the concept of the power of the the database of Genotypes and Phenotytpes or dbGaP. Large groups of people with particular characteristics, say they all suffer from asthma, can be genetically compared to the rest of the population.

Analysis of the database can point out segments of DNA that the target population share that no one else does suggesting that unique genes may have a role in their disease (asthma).
